He has published the books Duquesne, Pittsburgh's Rivers, Bedford and Its Neighbors and Homestead and the Steel Valley. An instructor at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh teaching the class "Undiscovered Pittsburgh," Daniel also speaks at community organizations, schools and historical societies on just about everything Pittsburgh.
